ANCHORING LIVES IN PURPOSE
Discover the real story behind Waymaker Expeditions.
Our Story
We are a real family, with real scars, real trauma, and real victories, on a mission to live authentically with those the Lord brings into our path.
We married in September 2020 (yes… a COVID wedding!) and were blessed with a beautiful blended family of seven children and one grandchild.
Both of us had to heal from past hurts. Through counseling, prayer, and God’s grace, our separate journeys led us to each other, Alison going on “one last online date” at her mother’s encouragement, and Jason stepping into dating again hoping for God’s best. God aligned our paths and set our marriage on a new trajectory.
Together, we have wrestled through blending a family, breaking generational cycles, and fighting spiritual battles for our home. Through it all, we’ve grown stronger, more unified, and deeply committed to living transparently and purposefully.

Meet Jason & Alison
Our shared passion for marriage ministry, faith, adventure, and authentic connection is what fuels everything we do. We’ve led numerous small groups we call the REACTION Movement, a return to the Acts-style church where believers gather, share openly, know Scripture, and encourage each other to live out God’s design for their lives.
Life is messy, and everyone carries hurts and hang-ups. Our heart is to create safe spaces where couples can “be real,” communicate, reconnect, and rediscover God’s vision for their marriage. We practice what we teach, weekly date nights, intentional prayer time, shared adventures, and an annual rhythm of reflection and goal-setting.
How did we get here? Much of my corporate life was centered around building high-performing teams, and my passion was around strategic planning, getting alignment and buy-in from other executives and aligning everyone to strive for goals that met the company’s objectives. It turns out this is also very effective for helping couples to “plan” for their future. It starts with “where are we now”, where do we want to go, how do we get there, and lots of conversation to get agreement and buy-in.
Alison’s deep desire for authentic connection and thoughtful touches to make people feel comfortable, special and heard bring the beauty of the boat and small-group intimacy to life. Further her Holy-Spirit sensitivity and prayer-warrior nature is vital to bringing about change in individuals, couples and groups.
We have also traveled extensively throughout the world and love exploration, finding beauty in God’s creation and amazing history and architecture. God used our love of adventure and travel, coupled with our desire for authentic relationships and encouraging couples and individuals to grow closer to God to birth a sailing retreat platform. Bring people to unique and awe-inspiring scenery to pause, reflect, reground and refocus on that matters most in life.
Our Mission & Values
Our mission is simple:
to guide individuals and couples toward deeper connection, healing, and intimacy through faith-centered adventure, meaningful conversation, and breathtaking moments at God's creation.
Our values reflect our journey:
Faith. Authenticity. Communication. Restoration. Adventure. Excellence. Hospitality.

About the Boat
52’ catamaran Waymaker
.png)
We purchased our first sailboat – a 52’ catamaran in 2024, sailed it from the island of Martinique to Panama where we have spent the past year remodeling the boat to be something that we will eventually live in.
Being a catamaran, it rides very well on waves and is very stable – with far less rock and sway compared to a monohull. We call it our Floating Condo!
We named the boat Waymaker referencing some verses in the book of Isaiah – where the Lord makes a way when there does not seem to be a way… He has shown us time and time again this truth.
This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:16-19
